Of the plus-size goth clothing brands whose own size charts we read, the four that go furthest past a size 16 are Trash Queen and Midnight Hour, both to 5XL, Hell Bunny, to a 6XL its chart calls a UK 26, and Foxblood, to 4X. Tragic Beautiful, Sourpuss, Restyle, The Last Kult, Devil Fashion and Jawbreaker stop somewhere between a 114 cm and a 127 cm bust. Every brand figure below was read off that brand's own chart on 16 September 2026, and each brand links to its chart.

Before any of those names help, settle which 16 you mean, because the number describes two different bodies. A UK 16 is a US 12. A US 16 is a UK 20, two sizes further on and 10 to 15 cm more at the bust on the UK charts below. Charts in the same system disagree too: across the four brands here that print a US 16, alone or as part of a range, its bust runs from 107 cm to 126 cm.

Key Takeaways

  • A UK 16 is a US 12, and a US 16 is a UK 20. On four UK charts, a UK 16 has a bust of 102 to 105 cm (40 to 41 inches).
  • The largest sizes belong to Trash Queen (5XL, 152 to 165 cm bust), Midnight Hour (5XL, 137 to 147 cm), Hell Bunny (6XL, 141.5 cm) and Foxblood (4X, 132 to 140 cm).
  • Labels drift between brands. Sourpuss prints US 16 beside a 120 to 126 cm bust, while the US 16 on Restyle's chart is 115 cm.
  • Check whether a chart gives body or garment measurements before you compare your own numbers with it.
  • Our own sizes reach 6XL in some tops and corsets, 5XL in a skirt listing a 92 cm waist and 4XL in a dress listing a 128 cm bust. Our only 3XL jacket lists a 104 cm chest, our jeans stop at 3XL, listing a 106 cm hip, and our gothic dresses rail stops at 2XL.

Which size 16 do you mean?

A clothing size is a label printed over a set of measurements, and each brand chooses its own set. UK and US numbers sit two sizes apart, so a UK 16 is a US 12 and a UK 20 is a US 16. Restyle's chart prints exactly that conversion. Jawbreaker's does not: it lists its UK 16 as a US 12 to 14 and its UK 20 as a US 20 to 22.

Here is what a 16 measures on the charts that print one.

Chart Size as printed Bust Waist Hips
Hell Bunny XL, UK 16 104 cm (40.9 in) 85 cm (33.5 in) 113 cm (44.5 in)
Jawbreaker XXL, UK 16, US 12 to 14 104 cm (41 in) 86 cm (34 in) 109 cm (43 in)
The Last Kult UK 16 102 cm (41 in, as printed) 82 cm (33 in, as printed) 109 cm (42 in, as printed)
Restyle 2XL, UK 16, US 12 105 cm (41.3 in) 87 cm (34.2 in) 111 cm (43.7 in)
Trash Queen XL, about US 14 to 16 107 to 114 cm (42 to 45 in) 81 to 97 cm (32 to 38 in) 112 to 122 cm (44 to 48 in)
Jawbreaker 3XL, UK 18, US 16 to 18 109 cm (43 in) 91 cm (36 in) 114 cm (45 in)
Restyle 4XL, UK 20, US 16 115 cm (45.3 in) 97 cm (38.1 in) 121 cm (47.6 in)
Sourpuss 4XL, US 16, EU 48 120 to 126 cm (47.2 to 49.6 in) 108 to 118 cm (42.5 to 46.5 in) 126 to 136 cm (49.6 to 53.5 in)

The UK 16 rows agree to within 3 cm at the bust. The rows carrying a US 16 spread across 19 cm, more than two sizes on Hell Bunny's chart, where each plus size adds 7.5 cm. That spread is why every comparison in this guide is made on measurements.

Past a 16, in this guide, means past a UK 16 at the least: a bust above roughly 105 cm. Every brand in the next table clears it. Whether a brand clears your US 16 depends on whose US 16 you wear, and the measurements settle that.

Plus-size goth brands compared by largest size

Each row is the largest women's size on the brand's own chart, read on 16 September 2026 and ordered roughly by bust. Where a chart prints only inches or only centimetres, the other unit is our conversion. The last column is the label the chart gives that size, if any.

One brand we checked did not make it. Dark In Love's chart stops at XXL, a 105 to 110 cm chest, and its size page says it currently holds no 3XL or 4XL stock.

This table is about fit alone. Who owns each label is a separate question, answered in our guide to goth brands not owned by private equity, and if Killstar is the wardrobe you are replacing, start with our independent alternatives to Killstar.

Fit notes, brand by brand

Trash Queen

If you need the most room, start here: Trash Queen pegs its 5XL at about a US 30 to 32, with a 52 to 62 inch natural waist. Its size page calls the chart a placeholder built on suggested body measurements, and points you to the item measurements on each listing and to a highlights section there on fit and stretch. Shortlist on the chart, and decide on the listing.

Midnight Hour

Midnight Hour's top size, a 5XL at the end of an XS to 5XL run, has a 137 to 147 cm chest. The hip column is labelled low hip, so take that measurement low, around the fullest part of your seat. Women's trousers are sized by waist in inches, 26 to 44, and the unisex and men's chart stops at 4XL. The chart does not say whether its figures are body or garment measurements.

Hell Bunny

Hell Bunny pairs each letter with a UK size across XXS to 6XL, the longest run here, so XL is a UK 16 and 6XL a UK 26. These are body measurements, and the brand says its sizing can come up a little more generous than other labels. From XL upward every size adds 7.5 cm at bust, waist and hip, and the brand says each product page carries fabric details, model measurements and fit advice, which is where a between-sizes choice gets made.

Foxblood

Foxblood charts in inches only, XS to 4X, and adds a bucket chart for pieces sold in paired sizes up to 3X/4X. Its size page asks you to choose by your body measurements without saying whether the figures themselves are body or garment measurements, and cautions that they can move a few inches either way with the material. Watch the trousers: its jeans chart stops at a 3X, marked as a 20, with a 35 to 37 inch waist, against 40 to 43 inches for a 3X on the main chart.

Tragic Beautiful

We found no site-wide size page. The chart opens from the product listing, and the one we read, titled for T-shirts and tops, gives body measurements from XS to 5XL, 127 cm at the bust for a 5XL, and adds garment chest and length for oversized tees, crop tops and long sleeves, so you can see how much room each cut leaves. The model on that listing wears a 3XL.

Sourpuss

Sourpuss gives more per size than any other body chart in this set, listing height, weight, shoulders, underbust and an EU cup size as well, which helps with fitted bodices. Its largest size is a 4XL, printed as a US 16, at a 120 to 126 cm bust. By its own label Sourpuss stops at a US 16. By the tape it passes the US 16 on Restyle's chart by 5 cm or more.

Restyle

A conversion row sets XS to 5XL against UK 6 to 22 and US 2 to 18, so Restyle's 5XL is a UK 22. Body measurements throughout. Its FAQ says every product description carries its own size chart, asks you to go by your measurements over your size in other brands, and notes that its corsets take 7 to 10 cm off your natural waist.

Devil Fashion

Read past the headline. The size page promises XS to 6XL across women's and men's, but the women's chart ends at a grouped 3XL/4XL, 114 to 119 cm at the bust, and the men's at 4XL/5XL. That largest women's group assumes a height of 173 to 180 cm, so hems and sleeves may run long on a shorter frame. The brand's advice: size up in structured outerwear, corsets and tailoring, stay true to size in stretch, mesh and jersey, and trust the product page over the general chart.

The Last Kult

The Last Kult sizes UK 8 to 22 in British sizing and designs for a height of 160 to 170 cm (5 ft 3 in to 5 ft 6 in), with a bust printed as 47 inches (117 cm) at UK 22. The size page says a pattern can usually be lengthened or shortened for a modest fee. A second chart runs S to XL, and that XL is a 112 to 117 cm bust, matching its UK 20 to 22, so an XL from this brand is well past a UK 16.

Jawbreaker

On Jawbreaker's main chart the top size, a 4XL, is printed as both a UK 20 and a US 20 to 22, at a 114 cm bust. Read the US figure with care, since on Restyle's conversion a UK 20 is a US 16. Coats and jackets have their own chart to 6XL, printed as a UK 26. Jawbreaker says they are designed to fit over layers and suggests sizing down for a closer fit.

How to read a goth size chart before you order

A chart answers a narrower question than it seems to, on a goth label or any other alternative brand. These checks catch most mismatches.

  • Body or garment. A body chart says which size is meant for your measurements. A garment chart gives the finished piece with room built in, so compare it with something you own that fits. Hell Bunny, Restyle, Sourpuss, Devil Fashion and Trash Queen describe their figures as body measurements, and Tragic Beautiful prints a body table and a garment table. Foxblood asks you to choose by your body measurements without saying which kind its figures are, and Midnight Hour, The Last Kult and Jawbreaker do not say either.
  • The measurement that decides. Bust for a top or a fitted dress, waist for a skirt or a corset, hips for trousers. When your numbers land in different sizes, choose for the one the garment holds closest and check the others have room.
  • Stretch. Spandex blends, jersey and mesh forgive a small gap between sizes. PU, faux leather, chiffon and woven cotton give almost nothing.
  • Grouped sizes. A 3X/4X piece is cut once to cover two sizes, so it sits closer at the top of its range than at the bottom.
  • Height. Every chart assumes one, and hems, sleeves and the waistline move with it.
  • Fresh numbers. Measure in your underwear, with the tape level and snug without pressing in, and use the chart on the listing in front of you. A size you wore in another brand is the least reliable number you own.

Our own plus-size range, and where it stops

The same test, applied to us, from our published listings on 16 September 2026.

Largest sizes with a printed measurement

  • Skirts. The Grunge Plaid Mini Skirt runs XS to 5XL in polyester and spandex, and its listing prints the waist: 60 cm in XS, rising 4 cm a size to 92 cm in 5XL. That is above every UK 16 waist on the four UK charts in the first table, which run from 82 to 87 cm.
  • Dresses. The Black Deadbeat Grunge Dress, a cotton and polyester mini, runs M to 4XL with a bust listed for each size, from 100 cm in M to 128 cm in 4XL. The listing does not say whether those are body or garment figures. Either way, 128 cm is above every UK 16 bust in the first table, the largest of which is 105 cm.

Where our sizes run high but the listing cannot confirm the fit

  • Tops and corsets. The Black Alt Lace Crop Top and the Black Lace Off Shoulder Corset both run S to 6XL. The corset is 90% polyester and 10% spandex, and the crop top's listing says polyester and marks it inelastic. The crop top's size chart is the fourth photo on its listing: the bust runs from 74 cm in S to 106 cm in 6XL, and the chart does not say whether that is body or garment. The corset listing prints no measurement, so there you are choosing by the letter alone.
  • Trousers. The Grunge Loose Pants in Black run S to 4XL with an elastic high waist, listing hips from 110 cm in S to 134 cm in 4XL. An S already at 110 cm tells you these are garment figures for a wide cut, so hold them against loose trousers you own.
  • A second dress. The Cherry Grunge Dress, A-line and knee-length in chiffon, runs L to 5XL. It prints no bust measurement, and the listing notes that a slip may be needed underneath.

Where our sizes stop

  • Gothic dresses. Our gothic dresses rail stops at 2XL, and no listing on it prints what a 2XL measures.
  • Jackets and coats. Our outerwear stops at 3XL, and only one jacket reaches it, listing a chest of 84 to 104 cm across its sizes. A 104 cm garment chest sits inside the 102 to 105 cm range of UK 16 busts in the first table, so for a bust at the top of that range it leaves nothing to spare for movement or a jumper.
  • Jeans. Our jeans stop at 3XL, with hips listed from 86 to 106 cm. A 106 cm hip is below every UK 16 hip in the first table, which run from 109 to 113 cm.

Where our sizes stop, the brands in the second table go further. Where they do reach, start with our plus-size collection. Boots are graded by foot and calf, and have their own wide-calf and plus-size boots guide. Swimwear is fitted from its own measurements, the torso loop among them, and our plus-size goth swimwear fit guide shows how to take each one. For bras and intimates, the brands, their size ranges and a buying checklist are what our guide to alt lingerie and goth underwear covers.

FAQ

Where does plus size start on a goth brand's size chart?

Each brand draws its own line. On the UK charts in this guide a UK 16 is labelled anything from L to 2XL. If you are past a UK 16, around a 105 cm (41 inch) bust, compare your measurements with a brand's largest size before trusting its plus-size label.

Is a UK 16 the same as a US 16?

No. The two systems run two sizes apart, which makes a UK 16 equivalent to a US 12 and puts a US 16 level with a UK 20. Not every chart here follows that conversion: Restyle labels its UK 20 a US 16, but Jawbreaker gives its UK 20 a US label of 20 to 22.

Which goth brands go up to 5XL or 6XL?

On their own charts, Hell Bunny runs to 6XL, and Trash Queen, Midnight Hour, Tragic Beautiful and Restyle to 5XL. Jawbreaker's coats and jackets reach 6XL while its main clothing stops at 4XL, and Devil Fashion's women's chart ends at a grouped 3XL/4XL despite a 6XL headline. The letters do not compare across brands: Restyle's 5XL has a 120 cm bust, Midnight Hour's 137 to 147 cm.

How far up do The Cursed Closet's own sizes go?

It varies by piece. Some tops and corsets go up to 6XL. Of the two we link, the crop top's size chart gives a 106 cm bust in 6XL and the corset listing gives no measurement. The plaid mini skirt reaches 5XL, where its listing gives the waist as 92 cm, and the Deadbeat dress reaches 4XL, listed at 128 cm across the bust. Outerwear ends with a single 3XL jacket whose listing tops out at a 104 cm chest, our only jeans cut in 3XL list a 106 cm hip, and nothing on the gothic dresses rail goes beyond 2XL.

How can I tell whether a goth brand's sizes will fit me?

Measure bust, waist and hips in your underwear, open the brand's own chart, and check whether it lists body or garment measurements. Match the measurement the garment holds closest, then read the listing for fabric, stretch and the model's size before you order.
